About MENTOR

MENTOR (MSCA Doctoral Network) – Advancing Research and Treatment of mTORopathies

MENTOR is a multi-disciplinary Doctoral Network funded by the European Union under the Horizon Europe Programme. The MENTOR Consortium brings together leading European scientists from academia and industry to investigate the mTOR (mammalian/mechanistic Target Of Rapamycin) network—a central signaling hub that integrates nutritional cues to regulate cell growth and metabolism.

Dysregulated mTOR activity is implicated in a wide range of diseases, from common age-related conditions such as cancer, obesity, and diabetes to rare genetic disorders known as mTORopathies. These conditions, characterized by tumor formation, polycystic kidneys, and neurological manifestations, pose significant challenges for healthcare.

MENTOR aims to uncover novel mechanistic insights into mTORopathies, driving progress in personalized medicine and paving the way for new therapeutic strategies in both rare and age-related diseases. Through cutting-edge research and comprehensive training, MENTOR will equip 18 doctoral candidates with the skills and expertise to make a lasting impact in academia, biotechnology, and translational medicine.

Here we specifically advertise DC position 10 “Kidney on a chip for kidney mTORopathies research”. The selected PhD candidate will be affiliated with Utrecht University. For a full overview of all available doctoral positions, please visit: https://mentor-program.eu/
